    Cancer Center

Eden Medical Center is approved as a Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons. This ensures that our program offers a full range of diagnostic, treatment and support services of the highest quality.

Through our affiliation with Sutter Health, Eden Medical Center is connected to more than 4,000 physicians and 26 care centers, and is able to participate in research initiatives and clinical trials to ensure that the people of our community receive the highest quality of care.

The following services are available to those who have been diagnosed with cancer:

    Breast Cancer Patient Navigator

Our Breast Cancer Navigator is certified to provide you, our breast cancer patient, and your family, the guidance and resources you need to understand your diagnosis, provide assistance and emotional support, and help prepare you for your journey through your diagnosis, treatment and beyond. Your Navigator is a vital asset to your team of physicians.

Helping you to prepare for doctor appointments and learning about treatment options, helping you with questions for your physicians, providing referrals for support groups or clinical trials and translating medical terminology are just some of the issues your Navigator can help with.

For more information about the Breast Cancer Navigator program, please call (510) 303-9957.

Low Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths for both men and women in the United States, resulting in more than 150,000 deaths each year—more than breast, prostate and colon cancer deaths combined.

Early-stage lung cancers have up to a 60 percent cure rate, compared to only 10 percent with late-stage cancers. Eden Medical Center offers lung cancer screening using low-dose computed tomography (LDCT), which has been clinically-proven to reduce lung cancer mortality in individuals at high-risk for lung cancer.

Low dose CT (LDCT) lung screening is a quick, safe and easy way to detect lung cancer early. The radiation of the scan is equivalent to a mammogram. All scans are reviewed and read by board-certified radiologists.

Eden's low-dose CT screening program integrates seamlessly with our comprehensive cancer care services and other resources to help guide patients if cancer or a suspicious finding is detected. Learn more

    Radiation Oncology

Radiation therapy is the use of precisely targeted radiation to treat benign and malignant tumors. Radiation destroys the ability of malignant cells to grow and divide and therefore is an effective modality in cancer treatment. Radiation therapy can be used on almost every part of the body and is often prescribed in combination with surgery and/or chemotherapy. Our physicians work closely with other specialists to determine the most effective treatment plan.

The Radiation Oncology Center offers a full spectrum of services, providing customized treatment for each and every patient.

Located in a newly renovated facility, our Center offers a comfortable, patient-centered environment. By using advanced technology available to “map” tumors, our radiation oncologists can design treatments with millimeter accuracy, ensuring that tumors get the most effective dose and healthy tissues and organs are spared. Through the Sutter Health network of services, you have access to a wide range of treatments and procedures, including:

    • Conformal therapy
    • Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
    • Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)
    • Active Breathing Coordinator
    • Brachytherapy and HDR Brachytherapy
    • Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiation (SABR)
