Going Home
Taking Your Baby Home
To bring your baby safely home from the hospital, you’ll need an approved auto infant safety seat, a baby blanket and going-home clothes for your baby.
Patients are usually discharged by 11 a.m. However, your doctor will decide the best time for you and your baby to go home. Usually you’ll leave the hospital with your son or daughter. If it should be necessary for your baby to remain in the hospital for a few more days, The Birthing Center Staff will help you make arrangements to be with your baby and to breastfeed or bottle-feed your newborn.
Once you arrive at home, you may find that you have more questions or concerns. We’re here to help, 24 hours a day. For questions about your health, please call The Birthing Center nursing station at (510) 727-3046. If you have a question about the health or care of your baby, please call our nursery at (510) 727-3047.
Be sure to have an approved infant car seat ready to go home!
