Sutter East Bay Neuroscience Center
Since 2005 the Sutter East Bay Neuroscience Center (SEBNC) has joined together the expertise of neurosurgeons, neuro-interventionalists, neurologists, neuro-vascular surgeons, and other neurology specialists with state-of-the-art technology to bring advanced treatment options to patients in the East Bay region, and beyond.
We have achieved outstanding patient outcomes using primarily minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of brain tumors, vascular disorders, movement disorders, and spinal and peripheral nerve problems. The SEBNC was one of only two San Francisco Bay Area hospitals to have a better-than-average mortality rate for craniotomies (California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development 2007 report). Our goal is to strive to be the best neuroscience center in the San Francisco East Bay region, serving surrounding cities such as Hayward, Berkeley, Castro Valley and more.
Our interdisciplinary team of surgeons and specialists works to ensure that no treatment option is overlooked and no gap in treatment is allowed to surface. Our facility includes a dedicated Neurological Intensive Care Unit and Interventional Radiology Suite. What this means to our patients is that we have one of the best neuroscience teams in the state to take care of them when they need us.

Advances in neurosurgery have brought better outcomes and a better outlook for a return to normal life for patients with brain and spinal injuries or disease. Interactive image-guided surgical equipment allows our neurosurgeons to perform intricate surgery with minimal invasion. Neurointerventional care uses microcatheters, similar to cardiac catheters but smaller, in minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat vascular diseases in the brain. Eden’s neurointerventionalists and specialists specifically diagnoses and treats aneurysms, vascular stenosis, stroke, and other major neurological diseases
As part of the Sutter Health network, the SEBNC participates in many of Sutter Health's clinical trials. Sutter Health offers neuroscience clinical research trials throughout Northern California, via our world-class neuroscience institutes. Qualified patients can participate in studies that cover a wide range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions such as brain tumors, stroke, autism, Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis.
